Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial weekend this year consisted of, you guessed it, more packing and a fun visit from my step sister Tracy and my niece Daisia. We took the kids to the water park on a brisk and windy morning with a picnic lunch and entroduced them to a favorite restaurant in town Lucille's BBQ. The girls had a great time playing and Tracy helped me to box things up.

Sunday our friends from the neighborhood planned a farewell bbq for us with many of our friends from town so we also had a great time enjoying their company....oh how we'll miss them!

We love you guys!

Mother's Day Tea

Lauren's preschool class hosted a Mother's Day tea and sang an adorable song~"thank you Lord for my mom, because she's so good to me"~just precious.
I got to wear a beautiful hat Lauren made for me out of paper plates

...and recieved the most adorable spoon replica of myself...love the long thick braids!

my placement from our special tea.

Since the school had a strict no sibling policy Shannon was able to join my friend Lindsey's twins at her old playgroup....she had a blast since she got to ride in their car and be with her buddies Abby and Jacob while we were at Lauren's school.
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures from Mother's Day to post as we woke to Shannon throwing up at 5am and the girls and I had a stomach bug all day. There is a picture of me in my pj's and the girls giving me a present but it is not going up. :)
I love you Lauren and Shannon! Thank you for your unconditional love and beautiful hearts....you make me so proud and I thank God for you each and every day my dear daughters.

Slow Dance

By David L. Weatherford

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You’d better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short,
The music won’t last.

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores running
through your head?
You’d better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won’t last.

Ever told your child, "We’ll do it tomorrow?"
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time to call and say "Hi?"
You’d better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won’t last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift…
Thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before your song is over.
